I am now fully qualified and insured to provide Steroid and Ostenil joint injections. These injections are carried out in the clinical setting and provide pain relief from conditions such as arthritis, age-related wear and tear and injuries.
Steroid injections are a long-lasting anti-inflammatory medicine administered via injection into the joint capsule. These injections can provide pain relief for up to 2 months.
Ostenil Plus injections are a joint lubrication medical device made up of Hyaluronic Acid (the key component in joint fluid). These injections provide extra lubrication to a joint suffering from age-related wear and tear or even arthritis. Ostenil is used when an individual doesn’t want a steroid injection or a steroid injection is not suitable for any reason.
Ostenil Tendon can be administered into the tendon sheath, around the tendon itself, to provide pain relief to an injured tendon.
All individuals will be required to attend an assessment appointment prior to any injections being administered.
Once we have created your treatment plan and discussed the treatment options, you will return for your injection therapy within 1 week.
If suitable, Ostenil injections can be carried out on the same day. However, Steroid injections are not held on-site as they have to be ordered by the clinician, for each individual patient, via a selected pharmacy.
